Hi I'm afraid I'm a bit of a computer idiot and I'm completely stuck! When I turn on my desktop it doesn't load up and just goes straight to a black screen whch states that the file system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys is either missing or corrupt. It goes on to say I can attemp to repair the file by using the original windows setup cd-rom.
However I have had the computer for about 4 years and there has been a few house renovations in that time so I have no idea what cd-rom they are talking about or where it might be!
I haven't installed any new hardware or software recently and the last person who used the computer said it shut down with no problems.
Does anyone have any advice about what I can do?!
Sorry! Tried to post a link to the Dell recovery web page, but it doesn't work for some reason. Might be too long. Maybe these will help a little:
