Specs: Windows XP
Can someone help me with system restore -- the calendar shows up, I click on a date and it seems to be restoring, but it always come back and say no changes have been made to your computer. In the pass (quite a while) I have been able to restore my computer. Can you tell me what to check for that may be causing this problem.

What is it you're trying to fix? You may have an infection that has disabled system restore.

If system restore was disabled it would not show you a date to restore to. Try to run a full check disk on the drive before you run system restore. So click start, run, type CMD, in the CMD box, type chkdsk C: /r and reboot the computer. Now try system restore again.

"If system restore was disabled it would not show you a date to restore to"

OK, maybe a poor choice of words. How's this: some viruses prevent system restore from working, even though the dates are shown on the calendar.
