Solved system mechanic deletes the color of my folders

I am using System Mechanic 11 Free and I also use Folderico 3.7 to change the odd folder shape or color on my computer. But when I use System Mechanic 11 free to clean junk files on my computer, it reverts the colors back to the original Windows shapes and colors. What can I do to still use System Mechanic but to have it so that it would not revert back the colors or the shapes of the folders. Thanks.

My advice - which will be backed up my most other knowledgeable people - is to stop using System Mechanic or any other similar software; they are all "snake oil" types of software, especially as they claim to "clean" the Windows Registry which is totally unnecessary at best, and at worst just plain risky.

If you must use it, turn off the Registry cleaning parts of it & that may also stop your custom folder colours being lost.

What phil22 said. Also, System Mechanic is probably deleting the desktop.ini files. These files hold your folder customizations.

Remove System Mechanic 11, and use CCleaner if you have to do cleaning.

Agreed. Dump System Mechanic & replace it with CCleaner. I recommend the slim version:
