Specs: Windows XP
I know that the problem was raised by other people before but I seem to have a bigger one here.,
C:\Windows\system32\config\system is missing or curupted

I have been through every single forum to seek advice..

My problem is - when I put the original CD in the CD drive and tried booting it, the message comes up that the drive is not available..

Hence I cannot get into any recovery consoles etc.. I am really stuck, please help!

have you tried running a sfc scan on it? Go to start run type sfc /scannow and let it check your system files, it may ask you to put in the windows disc in order to scan through the system files and if it finds any courrpt system finds it wil attempt to replace it.
