Hi. I'm trying to format a Dell Dimension E520 desktop and install XP Pro. The PC boots fine into Windows now, but there's a lot of crap on it and I want it formatted. I boot from the XP CD. It loads the setup files, but then I get the stop error 0X0000007B. I noticed some message in the BIOS as it's booting saying something about the harddrive being controlled by the BIOS RAID or something. Is this the cause? If so, how do I go about formatting and installing XP Pro? Thanks for any help.

goto bios and change the HDD mode to IDE/sata from AHCI ..

Or download correct drivers for your hDD controler and then sliptrim the XP CD.

You can find a nice tool at
