Boot the computer into safe mode by holding down the F8 key when you power it up. When you get to the boot menu, select Safe Mode with Command Prompt. At the command prompt, type this:

CHKDSK /R

Press <Enter>

This will run a check on your disk and attempt to repair any file-system errors.

"Helping others achieve escape felicity"

With all due respect Mechanix... do you mean "velocity" or is Felicity giving you a headache?

Depending on the nature of your problems, there may not be anything chkdsk can do.

Ewen: do you mean "velocity" or is Felicity giving you a headache?
I have no idea what you're referencing.

I've always assumed Mechanix2Go's signature meant he was helping others be happy.

Hi Ewen,

It's a play on words.

You're the first one to comment. But hopefully not the only one to
notice.

best regards,
