They won't. If you are trying to share the internet connection then get a router.

If you are trying to get more bandwidth using both usb and ethernet it is not possible. The modems will not connect using both cables, you only get one choice. The link from your system to the modem is faster than most ISP's have available from the modem to their system. Typical connects range from 600kb to 3mb via DSL or broadband.

You are able to Use the SpeedStream 4200 as a Router If you have two different computers and you would like to share the connection. This will work fine as long as the DHCP, is enabled in the modem. You must also have the usb drivers for the modem. It will assign Ip addresses like this
