|Thanks jefro and aegis1. It turned out to be permissions. I went to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377 as suggested and used Method 1 under Advanced Troubleshooting. That is: I downloaded and installed Subinacl.exe , copied, pasted and saved the script provided and double-clicked on the resuting file. It took a long while to run and seemed to have succeeded in changing only about four items. But ... that was enough, and the installation completed.|
