Solved Sound card Problem !!

Specs: Windows XP, 1 gb
I ve got a System Manufacturer : Rm plc and the System model: ms 7173 ..
I googled the driver for the board n it says ac'97 ..but it aint working ... !!! windows cant detect builtin card .. i just reinstalled the windows .. before that .. it was working !!!
any help plzz ?? !!

That seems to be the correct driver. Make sure that nothing is blocking it like a firewall or AV program. Run the exe as administrator. It should work. Did you download it from the gateway site? It's the 4th driver listed on that page.

Did you install it as administrator? Did you get an error message? If so, what was the message? Try to install it in safe mode.

hello RexyY, you said "windows cant detect built-in card". Does the device appear in the device manager as unknown device?

e-Victor .. Noh ... nothing like that ... in sound, video and gamer controller .. its normal ... even the driver has been installed succsessfully ...but no sound .. playing a music file says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly."

And y the heck its sayin problem solved ? :S maybe i ve clicked any wrong button :/

and its not even detecting the built in Net adapter .. i have an xtra Lancard so i ve connected it through the other one .. ! :s
