firefox crashed after a recommended down-load of "Smooth Wheel". It won't even open in safe mode. Submitted crash reports and crash stats. Got message :XPC Wrapped Native #537822. I am in over my head. Please help.
You are not alone. There are lots of users reporting all kinds of bugs with Smoothwheel add-on the link below. Read them all or if you are impatient just add your own comment to let the author know, then pray hard for an immediate fix. Meanwhile use System Restore to the day before the problem first appeared. http://smoothwheel.mozdev.org/guest...

Thanks so much for your reply to my post. I have been working 2 days to get some answers. This is my first post anywhere and I really appreciate the response. I don't know how to restore though.

So that your firefox browser did not start anymore, you can simply remove the SmoothWheel plugin by deleting the folder named {5F590AA2-1221-4113-A6F4-A4BB62414FAC}.
This folder is stored in your profile folder of Mozilla Firefox in the Extensions folder. The original poster should always write the last response !!!
Let us know, if the problem is solved !!!
System Restore should be there in:
All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.Alternatively you could type (or paste) this little lot in the Run box:
%SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe[ignore the underline which is put in by this website]
Google is NOT the only Search Engine!
I was able to use system restore so thanks for that .
Also I tried to uninstall Smooth Wheel. That didn't work. The next thing suggested was to uninstall firefox 3.6.3.
Now can anyone help with re-installing Firefox? Do I keep my same user name and password;settings, etc.?Thanks to everyone who took the time.
