sm bus controller driver

Specs: Windows XP
for amd aspire t180 desktop pc that registers with an exclamation mark within "system, hardware". It obviously refers to the media card reader installed at the front but I can't find an appropriate driver anywhere!

SM Bus is actually System Management Bus and is part of the chipset drivers, not specifically to do with a card reader. If you haven't already found them the chipset drivers for your system can be found here:

I realised this Johnr and I've tried to download it from acer-euro etc but it was that slow (30kbp/s) that it kept timing out after so long. I gave up after that but the site that you linked me to is a bit faster so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks a lot for investigating, much appreciated. Alan (oldgit65)

Just for future consideration....most of the time the smbus controller they are looking for is as John states, part of the chipset. It can sometimes be part of the graphics card drivers installation, just to keep us all guessing;)
