Only other things I can suggest are as follows:

Go to "Device Manager > Disk drives" and find your main HD. Right click it and select Properties > Policies tab. See if there is a tick in "Enable write caching on the disk".
If not give it a whirl.

If you are not already using it, try "CCleaner Slim", which gets a lot of rubbish out of
the system.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Are you sure you have no viruses?

Try Process Explorer (free) to see what is happening:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...
If necessary put a shortcut to it in Startup so that it comes on early in the bootup.

Wish I had.

I rather doubt it is BIOS unless you have some weird hardware fault. No harm cleaning the RAM edge connectors with a pencil eraser as they can sometimes play up, although slow boot would be an unusual symptom.

Usually it is "something" hogging the show during startup - computer suppliers goodies are frequent causes. Clutching at more straws, have you only one AV running in the background, and is it any better with the AV temporarily disabled?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
