sfc with /scannow can't see slipstream sp3 cd

August 24, 2011 at 13:26:27
Specs: Windows XP
I'm having trouble with KB update. Microsoft said I need to get sfc /scannow to work first before then can manually install the KB update. The problem is sfc /scannow runs to a point, and then asks for my XP cd. I put my XP sp1 cd in and it goes nearly to the end and then asks for an Sp3 cd. I downloaded sp3 as an ISO and burned it to a cd from the Microsoft website. However, when I put the sp3 cd into the cd rom it says its not right. I can see the cd is fine and when I put the sp3 cd in by itself it autoruns the sp3 install files.

I'm trapped between a rock and a hard place. Any ideas?

You need to slipstream SP3 into the XP CD.
