Screens freeze, Chrome tab bar turns blue

June 21, 2013 at 04:16:33
Specs: Windows XP
All screens freeze; cursor may disappear. If cursor is still visible, it operates the tabs, but each screen is frozen. Then tab bar (top of screen) turns solid blue with message "(Name of open tab) - Google Chrome" . Eventually (sometimes a second, sometimes minutes), everything un-freezes. This is often followed by a message that Shockwave has crashed. This happens several times over a 2-3 hour session.
As far as I can tell, I am running the most recent version of Chrome browser, on Windows XP Home Edition. I have disabled the Pepperflash version of Shockwave.

Assuming you are referring to Shockwave and not Flash, install the latest version of the Adobe Shockwave Player:

Just to add that you did the right thing to disable Pepperflash, it seems to be causing issues all round. This might be of interest if you haven't already seen it/done it:

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Sorry for the ambiguity - it's Shockwave Flash that keeps crashing. Thanks for you attention.
