Solved Screen flickering and BiOs upgrade in Dell insprion

Specs: Window Xp
My laptop Dell Inspiron 9200 bios is only recognizes 250 ram though there are two of them each of 250 ram, also the screen is flickering.AnywY to fix it
Memory 512 Mb (2 x256)
Processer ..Intel (R) Pentium(R) processer 1.60 GHZ
Version ..X.86 family's 6 model 13 safe play 6
Speed ..1594 MHz
Local disk.. Total capacity .. 29.29

I checked the specs & it appears your laptop supports up to 2GB (2x1GB) DDR333. Maxing out the RAM would definitely perk that thing up.

Make 100% sure both your sticks are 256MB & that they're fully seated in their slots. Pop them out & in a couple of times.

Thanks Tried popping in and out the present 256 ram memory cards a coule of times and this has improved the working to sme extent.Have not yet tried maxing out the Ram as suggested and will try it out.Howeve the system takes ages to log on , but once done
it stars performing though still,very very slow.Some people have suggested that I change the BIOs driver.Will this help or do have to replace the screen?
