I went to Symptom Tree on my computer after not being able to boot even in safe mode, and getting error messages that Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to my computer.
On Symptom Tree I used different tests and found that my hard drive cannot be read, and that it has to be either replaced or I prefer to use the second option of removing write protection.
Please advise how to do this. Is this from a virus or a security issue?
Do you think this will solve my problem?
Thanks
Get a linux or windows live cd. Boot to that cd. Try to access the drive. Consider a live cd with smart tools or applications to test drive. Could be drive, power supply, ide/sata controller or cables.
Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
It was a false message "write protected" You need a new hard drive and remember to backup!
