Hi there,

I need some help with setting up accounts and permissions for these accounts on Win Xp Pro.

What I want to do is:

1. Setup 1 Limited User Account and 1 Admin account.

2. I want the Admin account to have full blown access and permission to everything on the computer.

3. I want to the User Account to only have access of viewing the data or to read the content. but not copying(cut n deleting) to a flsh drivers....
i.e, The User Account should NOT be able to have the above permissions...

any idea..?

Set up permissions for the various actions by right-clicking each parent folder concerned, then click "Properties.

Click the "Security" tab.
Click "Advanced"
Click "Change Permissions"

You should have TWO administrator accounts, not one. The default account should be only used as a fall back account. Setup an account besides the default account with full privileges.

You only need ONE admin account and you create a limited user for yourself to use at all times. You never use the admin account, you use runas to do admin tasks. There is a built in hidden admin to fall back on. I have never ever needed it.

There are a number of ways to limit access. One is with advanced NTFS file permissions. By default a number of areas in a NTFS windows xp install require admin account to do tasks. Drivers can only be deleted on a FAT formated disk. Other than that a live cd could delete them.
