I think it's Alt & F10 when you see the Acer logo at boot.

Thanx but,

the netbook will not boot, it goes up to the Windows XP logo & immediately reboots.

Tried f8 & f12 but will not boot in Safe Mode or in the other options.

I checked the Bios settings, I set the USB 2.0 flash Disk bootable with XP in it to boot 1st & tried all the optios listed but none boots.

It says computer disk hardware configuration problem
Could not read from selected disk. Check boot path & disk hardware.

Tried to post here shots of the screen, hope they show.

You didn't explain enough in your first post, and didn't read my response.

The Acer logo should appear before the XP logo, almost immediately after turning on the netbook (unless someone's been fiddling in the BIOS & turned off the 'splash screen'....)

What is on the flash drive you are trying to boot from? Ideally you need to make a bootable copy of XP on a flash drive so that you can get to the recovery console and run chkdsk.

Sorry not explaining,

Acer Logo does not appear, it goes in the black screen showing to Start Wins.normally, Last Known config, Safe Mode & Command Prompt but none works, when selected goes back to Win.XP Logo again & reboots immediately.

nothing changed in Bios for Logo, & as I mentioned earlier:-

".....USB 2.0 flash Disk bootable with XP in it to boot 1st....".

NB.
This USB XP works in my desktop.
Tried my other USB with Linux & worked on this Acer, but did not install it ofcource.

Can I post screen shots here & how?

SOLVED

I went to Bios & by chance noticed the "SATA" was not in the "IDE Mode", I changed to IDE & Lo & Behold the ruddy thing booted up normally.

BUT, no Acer Logo.

Whatever changed the IDE mode did away with the Acer logo & access to eRestore for manufucturer's default settings.

Can you help on this please. AVG Free shows no Virous.

Sorry for the faulse alarm.
