✔ Best Answer
Is the new motherboard an identical replacement?

"shadowed serial numbers and model numbers"
Do all the bios characters look like this?

Does the computer boot to Windows and if so is it normal there?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Shadow BIOS? What's that? Do you mean certain menu options are greyed out? Serial numbers & model numbers can't be changed, they are what they are.

It may be you never noticed it with your old motherboard. Sometimes you can change the background color of the bios setup screen. Or even assuming it's exactly the same motherboard, a diferent bios version might have made it noticeable.

the original board did not have a card slot and a memory stick slot . the replacement does have the board extension components that has that accessory. I cut out slots
on the left side of the computer case to allow for this and installed the board.. Im not sure but i think the board is for a v6000/v7000. or a model number similar to that. I did the
same modifications for myself and friends years ago when i was designing compusters
for compaq and HP. the upgrade saved us about 125.00 to 150 00 retail . and i was able to somehow install Serial Numbers in the bios listing but i dont remember how to enter them. so now there is just hash mark-like shadowing there. can anyone help me with this
