remove windows 7 from windows xp boot loader

Specs: Windows XP
originally i had windows xp and then i installed windows 7, and i felt windows xp is better for my system, so remover windows 7 by formatting the drive in which i had installed it, now though i formatted and removed all the data regarding windows 7, i still get an option stating 'earlier version of windows' or 'windows 7' every i boot my system, i want to get rid of this windows 7 option from my boot menu, if you have any solution to solve this problem, plz help..,

first of all i would like to thank you for suggesting me tat website, i learned how to edit my boot.ini files. Regarding my problem, i followed whatever said in the website like i modified the boot.ini notepad, ie., copied the default thing given in the website and pasted in the boot.ini file, saved and restarted my system, but then again i get the same problem, in the boot menu it showed two options stating 'earlier version of windows' 'windows 7' hmm this thing is freaking me out, and i still dont know how to solve it.....,
