Specs: Windows XP, Unknown / 3gb
I had this occur when I was copying a folder off my C Drive on to an external drive about halfway through the copying it popped up a error message that read "can not copy XXX.file because path is to deep" then after that now I can't delete the folder that it was copying over from my external drive it pop's up an error Message that reads "Can Not Delete Alien file is corrupted and unreadable" but the problem is the folder and it's contents are still there and are readable on my external drive and I can't remove it. Is there a way to get rid of such a thing. I've never heard of a path to deep or a can not delete Alien error before. Is new to me. Please Help..

Run the command prompt as administrator & try the cd & del commands.
