reinstall of xp pro

Specs: window xp pro, pr4/528ram
many moons ago, I upgraded my home built pc to a p4, a hp pavilion 8987 something,I have xp po on disc with product key etc,the disc is for a home build and came with a hard drive i replaced years ago, had a bug and decided to replace hard drive, all ok start up and xp install runs thru part 1 the new 160 g hard drive is partitioned into 2 x 80's
part 2 of the install does not start , any clues, is Gates that greedy that xp is limited to the number of installs one can do
hey this is a Imac I'm on and seriously thinking about swapping no more microsoft to many bugs and no help from microsoft

Microsoft has no clue as to what operating system you install till you activate it or try to do so....the installation should proceed without issue from start to finish...then activation occurs and you find out then that Microsoft will not allow it. The only other time the installation is stopped is from a bad COA code being tried when asked for.

XP has always had issues with drivers and hardware compatability. Remove all other pieces of hardware except those things that are needed for the initial installation...that means all USB plugs other than mouse or keyboard if your motherboard supports them..1 stick of memory...1 harddrive...1 floppy drive...1 optics drive...etc.

Do not overclock your system till after the installation..use the on-board items only. Then try to reinstall.

where do i find the drivers necessary to set up my LAN?
