I have installed system disk to reformat my hard drive. I can get as far as the screen that says "Windows XP Professional Setup" .When I choose to set up Windows XP now, press ENTER. Nothing happens. I tried to press R for repair and F3 to quit and still nothing happens as if the keyboard doesn't work at all. How can I continue?
sbden59, 'format' erases everything from whatever disk it's applied to. That means your old OS was wiped and you must boot from CD. Did you change your BIOS to look FIRST at the CD drive rather than the HHD?

Two queries... "system disk" - is this a full or Upgrade CD for XP; or a recovery disk?
Is the keyboard a usb connection or the standard ps2 variety (and if a ps2 then have you tested with another similar ps2 keyboard)?
I read your post as not yet having managed to get as far a reformatting the drive - or am I misreading/misinterpreting it?
In any case it ought to do something. I guess you could look at the disk to see if it was damaged. Test the cd drive or memory or system board.
