recovering files in local d

Specs: Windows XP
i format my mom laptop and accidentally delete the partition for local d but after i realize that i quit it, then i format the partition for local c and after that i open the laptop and open the local d the message coming out is "the local d is not formated" how can i fix it and restore all my important files... pls help me i really need it this day. thank u

If you deleted D, then formatted C, how did you boot Windows so that you are able to see the error about D not being formatted?

What EXACTLY did you do?

... and what KIND of disc did you use - Native XP installation CD or Recovery CD supplied by OEM system builders?

Here are some file recovery Programs that usually work:

PC Inspector (freeware)

Zero assumption Recovery
The demo is limited
It will only recover 'up to' four folders per run
But you can make multiple runs
