Re: All of my system files + folders are .lnk

Specs: Windows Vista
My problem began when I stupidly deleted these two .dll [imageres.dll and imageres.dll.7tp] files in my system32 folder. I was attempting to use Windows 7 transformation pack to visually upgrade my Vista computer. Unfortunately, my firewall ended up blocking and terminating the upgrade mid-installation, resulting in a error message [Could not load.DLL library C:Windows\user32.dll.The specified module could not be found.] I tried rebooting and restarting the installation, but I kept getting the same message. So I was going to manually copy and paste the files but after doing so I noticed all of my folders and system based programs icons appeared as .lnk files, however most if not all non-system files&folders appeared normal. Also, I am wondering if by mistakenly associating the imageres.dll file with "notebook" ,opening it as a notebook file( another bad idea I know) is how I could be screwing it up more. Ever since I opened it in "choose default program' a lot of the .lnk files appear with notebooks in them. Any Ideas on how to resolve my issues?
Thanks in advance!
