Random Shutdowns

Specs: Windows XP, 1.7ghz 1GB ram
May laptop shuts down randomly for no reason. It
only happens when running windows. If I boot in
safe mode it works just fine. Any suggestions?

... go to "start" run (type) eventvwr.msc [press enter]

... in the left pane double click application, see any red markers?

... does it match the shutdown times? + the info is displayed in the box window that will give you a good idea.

... Click on the other left pane titles and look for red markers and time entries. Each entry may contain information about the application or process that was causing problems during shutdown including the time it took to shutdown that process.
