Specs: Windows XP, AMD Athlon XP 1.40ghz/ 2x1GB DDR RAM 400mhz/backward compatible 2.6Volts
I jus installed 2GB of ram in my PC and my CPU speed has decreased to 1.40Ghz, before i installed the 2GB of ram i had 512 MB and the speed was approximately 2.35Ghz. i can increase the FSB if i want but whenever i try to the system freezes or gives me the blue screen, but with the 512 i can increase the FSB without any hassle. any suggestions?

I would think that you are running the wrong memory sticks. Make sure that they are rated for that computer.
