QuickLaunch Buttons stop working

May 15, 2009 at 21:53:54
Specs: Windows XP
Difficult to explain but here goes. The icons in my XP QuickLauch bar have no effect when I click on them. They highlight (as expected) when I hover over them, but when I click them nothing happens. I've checked \documents and settings\user\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch, and everything appears to be okay (I compared to another working machine nearby). I've tried rebooting, etc. If I right click on the icons, it's as if they do not exist. I do NOT get the normal cut, copy, rename, delete, send to,etc instead I just get View, Open Folder, Show Text, Show Title, Close Toolbar, Toolbars, Cascade Windows,,,,,,Lock the taskbar, properties, , as if there was nothing there to click (although the icon IS there). I have searched the net, and can find nothing like this anywhere. Thanks for any thoughts.....

akronohio, Go to the link below and click on "Restore to XP Default * (clickable)" to download a vbs file fix. To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.
