pxe e61 message even with new hdd

Specs: Windows xp
had hdd error put in new hdd now have this pxe thing wont read master disk iv checked bios and all ok

can anyone help please

Reset the boot priority in BIOS. The PXE should be last. Set CD first then HD, Most people never boot from a network server.

You have supplied zero info about your computer or the HDD you're working with.

The "pxe e61 message" means that your system is attempting to boot off a network, not the HDD. So either your boot order is incorrect or the HDD is bad or improperly installed.

wont let me access any settings just goes straight to error message
tried all of the f keys along top of keyboard only other thing it will do is let me set time date etc

working withan old packard bell made in2002 runs on xp
hdd is a maxtor fireball3 40gb
one day turned it on and it had hdd error it had been running seriously slow we got refurbished hdd same make model as original now has pxe error

You got a new hard drive. You will need to put an operating system on it. Do you have your XP disc?
