Problem installing digital certificates on XP & Win7 clients

May 23, 2012 at 10:39:55
Specs: XP, P4 1.8GHZ/ 1GB
Recently tried to install 2 digital certificates on Win XP and 7 clients for a needed application. Some worked without error, some can't open the desired URL. All certificates were installed without errors. After closer look I noticed that only the first certificate was actually installed. The second one (.p12) didn't install really although it reported it did!
So I'm really confused since there is no help from headquarters. I want to ask a few things:
- Does it matter if you have administrator rights on the machine?
- Should be a default browser (IE or Mozila) in order to install them?

Any help would be appreciated

Kind of confused. Where did you get these certificates from? What application would need to have a certificate to run?

Are you saying that a HTTPS site requires you to view and install a certificate to run a web page app?

Hang up and live.

Yes, a web app requires those certificates in order to open. This is for the Greek Ministry of Education. You can get them from a certain web page that is used for this exact purpose.
