My printer,HP Officejet Pro L7580, cannot print from MS Word and MS Excel in color. It prints color from Paint, PDF and webpages. HP tech thinks the problem is with MS Office. Can anyone help please?

check the printer properties when using MS word. Make sure it is not set to print in black only.

Thanks. I already did that, i.e. setting it to print in color.

Did you verify you have the correct print driver installed?

I thought of that solution but HP tech support persuaded me out of it. They said I could not print in Paint, PDF and from webpage if the driver is the problem.

My office version is 2000.

A colored font prints color, not grayscale.

"Not printing in color" means that when the font is set to color, it comes out as black when printed.
