Pressing M button causes windows to downsize to taskbar

January 7, 2014 at 15:36:11
Specs: windows xp pro
Every time I press the "M" button, whatever window that's open downsizes to the taskbar, as if you hit the minimize button in the upper right hand corner. Some of the other buttons give other results as well. HELP!

Seems like the Windows key is stuck down. Power off and try pressing the Windows key quite hard and repeatedly about 20 times. That sometimes helps, otherwise its probably keyboard replacement time.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If it doesn't seem to be a stuck key/bad keyboard there's some suggestions here:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com...

Be sure to check 'stickykeys' settings in Control panel--accessibility options--keyboard.
