If you have an XP install CD you may want to try a repair install, better yet, before that try an sfc /scannow and have the CD ready to replace damaged windows files...if that fails to fix your problem, then try a repair install:

Good Luck

This must have been what I did as I clicked on red, clicked on #204 (right) and a long box popped up in the middle and asked if I was sure if I wanted to add 'blah, blah, blah .reg" to the registry and I clicked yes. Is that it? So now if I go to 'Control Panel' and click on 'Power Options' it should open?

I was helping a poster once, and he looked everywhere else instead of looking at what I was recommending. Sometimes it is best to concentrate on what someone says and then try following it exactly as it is posted...it makes getting from point A-Z much quicker ;-)

Well, I never saw or did this part: "option in menu should show "merge"
so I wasn't sure if I needed to do more before I checked.

Sure, no problem, doesn't it go by who is first in line and then add the seasoning?

Not funny since I admitted to being lame . . . ;>). But what seems like 'normal, small talk' to you is gibberish to me! But I'm willing to try and am 'listening' as best I know how. Also, appreciate the help!
