popup Outlook Express Compress Email

Specs: Windows XP
The popup regarding Outlook Express compressing my email has began showing up during my boot up process. I don't and have never used Outlook Express. I am using Outlook 2003. Why am i getting this message?

Click Start / Run and type msconfig. Click the Startup tab and see if anything is listed concerning OE. If it is, uncheck it.

Also, make sure Outlook is configured to be your default email program.

Thanks, I have always used only Outlook 2003 but I checked to make sure it is the default...it is. I could not find anything in the Start Up tab that looked as if it were a part of or attached to Outlook Express. Any other thoughts?

Go to Control Panel / Add Remove Programs. On the left hand side of the screen there's a box that says Add Remove windows Components. Click it and find OE and uncheck it since you don't use it anyway.
