pop ups in my computer address bar

September 6, 2011 at 16:41:31
Specs: Windows XP
I did click on the link to download PC Unleashed, but nothing happened. Not sure what's up with that?
I did notice the address bar was removed when I went to "my computer". "Tufenuf" said the address bar could be put back, and when I put it back, I see I still have the same unwanted website pop up.
I have Windows XP, and use mozilla foxfire. Going to "start", then to "my computer",
How do I delete web sites from the address bar that pop up when I start to type in a letter or a number?
I do not have this problem with web addresses when I go directly to Mozilla, only when I go to "start" and then to "my computer".

Sounds like internet explorer trying to autocomplete what you type in the address bar. Open IE, go to settings, and reset it to defaults.

" I see I still have the same unwanted website pop up."
"How do I delete web sites from the address bar that pop up when I start to type in a letter or a number?"

If they're loading without you selecting them, you probably have crap the maker of a "rogue" anti-malware program was responsible for infecting your computer with.

Ignore the part about loading your latest System Restore restore point unless you did what the guy in that Topic said he did in the first post - loaded a previous restore point.

I'm not able to open Internet Explorer. I have the "e" icon on the menu, but it opens to Mozilla Foxfire.

Sounds like you probably have something like Tubes said. You're better off not using IE anyway, it's a horrible browser.
