Policies tab missing! Disk Management Console

March 9, 2012 at 18:34:55
Specs: Windows XP SP3, dual 2.2GHz / 4Gb
I purchased an external hard drive which strongly suggests turning off disk write optimization, for robustness.
From everywhere on the internet I see that there is supposed to be a "Policies" tab for disk properties in the Disk Management Console (you get there when by opening up "Manage" after right-clicking My Computer, going to "Storage"-->"Disk Management Console", and then right-clicking a drive)

However, none of my drives have that tab available. What is going on?

EDIT: I have XP Professional

"going to "Storage"-->"Disk Management Console", and then right-clicking a drive"

Just fired up an XP Pro comp, on mine it is > Storage-->Disk Management, right-click a drive-->Properties-->Hardware-->highlight a drive-->Properties
