HELP ME FOR FORMATTING PEN DRIVE
mmm Remember to turn off capitals - unless a capital is required - when typing messages etc. It's considered to be "shouting" in forums (fora) and chat rooms etc...
As to your dilemma...
You don't seem to be alone with this one...
Have you tried to reformat as per Transcend's website instructions? Below is from their faq section for your model
""""""""""""
The procedures below will guide you to format your flash drive to NTFS in Windows XP:1. open device manager
2. open disk drive
3. right click on the flash drive and select properties
4. select policies tab
5. select optimized for performance
6. press ok
7. the NTFS option shall be enable in the Windows format windows."""""""""""""""""
And have you contacted them - they do seem to have a decent on-line presence at:
http://www.transcendusa.com/Support
Otherwise have a read of the following and see if any of the ideas there will help?
The first one is from last year; with a solution by Mavis a current contributor here...

And finally - after a lengthy look-see at Transcend... I found this utility via the Tech Support/downloads link...... Suggest you do a search for your specific model there. Likely this utility is for all of them...http://www.transcendusa.com/Product...
Overall I suspect the utility from Transcend is what you will need/use?
i use the method you gave me but i am still there, where i was.
means my pen drive is still unformated and giving message of write protection. please help me to format it.
mm what exactly did you try - from the links etc. I suggested? I think you may find the last link (to Transcend website - a utility there) will be the place to go... If you haven't gone there and downloaded and run the utility... then do so?
i tried this method also. but in the very first step a dialog box appears which ask to enter the size of the pen drive and when i fill this one it give result that select the size again . means i unable to continue this method.
i used jetflash online recovery method but it shows flash size error
mmm.. perhaps contact Transcend and see what they can offer/suggest? I suggest this as I have little experience with usb/flash drives overall. I have only used them occasionally as quick transfer/temp-storage...
Typically many of these "drives" have two "partitions"; one smallish one and one large. One of them can be also be password-protected... It may be that yous is/was dual-partitions; and that you need to know what teh oerall size of drive "is" and also size of each partition. Then try the overall as you believe (know) it to be; and also using the larger partition size only?
The Transcend website (tech support or product information/specifications etc.) will confirm the actual size of the stick; and if two partitions on it - the size of each?
NEW PROBLEM ARISE NOW PEN DRIVE SHOWS INSERT DISK MESSAGE
WHEN I START FORMAT PEN DRIVE THE MESSAGE APPEARS INSERT DISK OR THERE IS NO DISK IN DRIVE
I USE TRANSCEND ONLINE RECOVERY TOOL MY PENDRIVE IS OF 8 GB, WHEN I PUT 8GB SIZE IT GIVE ERROR .
AND in last i put 512mb size it accepted but in the last it give a error message flash disk error 0xE306
mmm if you accept the 512 entry and then look at the drive via drive manager etc. in XP... does it see and allow you to format the rest of it? As I said earlier (last post?) perhaps contact Transcend and see what they can advise too?
no it is not allowing me to format moreover format option do not display in the list when i open mange disk but it is present when i open my computer. and when i give format command from my computer, message appears there is no disk please insert disk
Sonyayla... I've run out of ideas/suggestions. Apart from the though/inclination to think the drive may be damaged beyond recovery.. It can happen with these devices; usually by removing it improperly - before the remove usb device "tray icon" tells you it's OK...
Otherwise they have occasionally been known to fail for whatever reason... And either way it's a good reason not to rely on them for serious storage of data; at the best/most simply a way to transport data - leaving a safe/secure copy elsewhere...
So perhaps contact Transcend and see what they can advise?
If and/or when you get an answer or resolution to the problem perhaps you will post back and tell us. That way we all will know for future reference?
I HAVE A GREAT SOLLUTION OF IT.
