peachtree 2000 will only let you login if you

June 16, 2011 at 08:38:22
Specs: Windows XPpro SP3
This is happening on two T61 Lenovo laptops where they have to logon before anyone else or it will say access denied. Both will run Peachtree 2000 ok when logged in. I have a logon batch file for the drive that the program is on. I'm running XP pro on the laptops. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't get the question.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

I have 2 T61 Lenovo laptops that will not log into Peachtree 2000 unless they are the first one to log in. If it is not the first one it will say access denied.

A Google search on "peachtree 2000" reveals that it's an accounting system, and the top two hits are for their support, including toll free phone numbers. Can't they help?

I'm not familiar with peachtree 2000 itself, but if it's database files are on a server (you mention logging in) then they can be set to allow 'shared access' or 'exclusive'.

Normally, with any program, when two users use the same files, each one cannot see the edits made by the other so once the first one has opened a file, the second one is denied access (exclusive).

With some software, there are settings which allow the second user access, but only in read-only mode and others which allow more than one user to access in read/write mode.

As Nigel Spike says, peachtree 2000's support site would be the place to start.
