|If your freezing is caused by a bad RAM segment, then the change would fix (run Memtest first to see if this is your problem). If it is due to a hard drive that is going, then it would fix (run test utility from hard drive mfg.'s site). Also download Speedfan to see what your cpu and gpu temperatures are at idle and during load to see if your issues lie in overheating. |
If you are considering upgrading all of that, maybe $350.00 more or less, look into what you would have to spend to get a new system that has what you want (so you will not get the urge to upgrade again in a couple of months). Which path will also be effected by the rest of your hardware (will it be enough for you for a couple of more years?) and if you are going to be happy with your OS for that long, or are you going to want windows 7 soon (add that to the price)?
