PC doesn't recognize a license emailed to me

Specs: Windows XP
I bought a Reaper DAW License. Following the instructions my PC doesn't recognize the RK file extension. Very frustrated.

Are you trying to run the application from the download site? You should instead select to save the file.

Yes I did - they keep doing a round robin on me. They keep asking , basically, if I'm following the instructions they supplied. I tell them yes I did and then the communication stops.

No not from the download site. I did save it to my desktop and tried running it from there, I did check out eh page for the RK files but did not find what I need.

.rk files are compressed files somewhat like a zip file. You will need a program to extract it.

Do a Google search for .rk files and you will find the answer.
