PC CPU usage spikes & ping command is running Trojan found

December 27, 2011 at 16:23:05
Specs: Windows Vista
My internet security detects high cpu usage and my computer will slow or crash (blue screen). TCP/IP ping command is found running and in every case a "bot" type file or a trojan type file is found. They can be removed but pinging will start again at reboot and the same thing will happen. More files will be found with different names but will still be a bot or trojan type file. In some cases a *****.exe file is found. What can I do to stop the pinging.

mrbigeasy, I'm an XP user and not familiar with Vista, but what you describe sounds to me like your nasty lives in 'restore' and you get re-infected with each boot. Does Vista have/use 'restore'? Disable and clean it, then re-enable it.
