Specs: Vista Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Quad660
I have Windows XP Pro on a 40 gig Hard Drive and added a 250 gig Hard Drive for my secondary Hard Drive for storage. Windows XP is only allowing access to 127 gigs of the 250 gigs. after formating. BIOS sees all 250 gigs and when Windows saw the new hardware it said 250 gigs. After formatting, it only shows 127 gigs. My question is if there is a way to Partition the 250 gig Hard Drive to into two equal partitions to gain complete access of all 250 gigs. It is my extra PC and not my primary.

Two things tend to cause that general limit. One is the service pack level and the other is bios support. See if there is a bios update that DIRECTLY talks about that limit. Might have to slipstream the install cd. Might have to partition and then add in service pack.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
