Opening Folders without Search

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 2.7 GHz / 2047 MB
I've changed something somewhere along the line and now when I click on a folder a Search window opens - I can open the folders with a Right click and select "open" from the drop-down menu but I really want to get back to my original double left click.
I was changing the view of files to show their extensions on the lists (jpg & html) just before this problem happened.

Search Companion Starts If You Double-Click a Folder(or a drive)

If you do not like messing with Registry, try this--
Click Start, then RUN, then type
regsvr32 /i shell32
Note the space after the '2', and after the 'i'
