Solved One website won't load, others ok

September 14, 2011 at 00:34:08
Specs: Windows Vista
one website consistently won't load on laptop but will on PC using same wifi modem. I just get white page and "loading" message. The website is:
http://webmail.west63rd.net/webmail/
It used to work fine on both computers until recently.
If you can help, please explain any jargon because I'm not that clever with computers. Thank you.

It would be worth following up suggestion #2 to confirm whether or not it is an IE issue. Firefox can be installed quite quickly and it can be uninstalled later if you don't want to keep it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Try clearing your history, cookies, temp internet files, etc then try again.

Make sure it is not in your Hosts file, or Restricted Sites (IE).

You can check out hosts file by temporarily disabling it. Follow the path:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
I suggest you change it from hosts to hostsx, close IE then open it and try the website again. If it doesn't help rename it back again. If it does help we will need to look at the content of your hosts file.

Restricted Sites is here:
Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security tab, Restricted Sites icon
>Sites button. Look down the list for it and remove it if you find it.

Sometimes a virus can block things but if that is the only problem you are having it is unlikely.
