Did you follow the instructions?
http://www.surfright.nl/en/kickstar...

Once you have created a HitmanPro.Kickstart USB flash drive you can use it to rescue a ransomed PC. For that you must first make sure that the ransomed PC is powered off.

Insert the HitmanPro.Kickstart USB flash drive into a USB port of the ransomed PC and turn on the power of the PC. During the startup of the PC, enter the Boot Menu of your BIOS (press either F8, F11 or F12 depending on the manufacturer of your BIOS) and select the HitmanPro.Kickstart USB flash drive.

NTLDR: Couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)

disk(0) refers to the hard drive, so it seems your PC is trying to boot from that instead of booting from the USB flash drive.

You need to invoke the boot menu (with the USB flash drive already plugged in) and choose USB, but be aware that the BIOS on some older computers does not support booting from a USB device even though you've made the device itself bootable.

In that case, updating the BIOS to a later version might add that option to the boot menu.

Hi Johnw, I did follow the steps through 9. After choice# 1 (Bypass Master Boot Record) selected, screen showed read errors. Should I go to Choice #2, Regular boot?
Thanks all for helping.

Hi Sam3, It's starting to sound like what phil22 says, it's not reading the boot for USB.

What is the exact model of your comp please.

Hi Johnw, I changed it to boot from USB first and the screen shows the USB Boot options. Dell Latitude D630. I tried choice# 2, but the screen is blocked after HDD booted up. Bios ver is A13(2008). Any suggestions? Thanks.

"Any suggestions? Thanks"
Not without googling your model etc..

Here is my 1st possible.

Go into the bios & tell me what setting you are using,

AHCI, ATA, SATA, IDE or other?

only two options:ATA or AHCI. SATA operation is configured for ATA.

Please help
I have the DOJ ransom program virus – system locked
I made the HitmanPro Flash boot drive
The Boot USB drive contains Three Programs:

HitmanPro 9KB
HitmanPro x64 9649 KB
Kickstarter 141 KB

Is this correct?

When I insert the Flash drive and choose “boot from USB Drive as the boot and turn on the computer , the screen shows the following 2-line message:

“ couldn’t open drive multi (0) disk (0) partition (0) partition (2)”
“NTLDR: couldn’t open drive multi (0) disk (0) partition () partition (2)”

my computer is a Dell Dimension 4600 with Intel Pentium and windows XP home edition.

I’ve tried making a second boot drive but get same result.

I will definitely purchase the Hitman Pro program gladly if I can get it to work.

any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

If your XP is the 32 bit version, you have downloaded the wrong Hitman.

Download 32-bit
