Specs: Windows VISTA, 2GB
MY LAPTOP JUST SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN AND NOW WHEN I TRY TO POWER BACK UP THE LIGHTS FLASH A COUPLE OF TIMES AN GOES BACK OFF,HAVE TRY TO DO A HARD RESET, BUT IT WANT DO THAT EITHER.CAN SOMEONE HELP?

... what happens if you take the laptop battery out then pop it back in again and hook it up to the mains via the adapter ...same problem?

...and the mains adapter plugged-in and turned on

... wiggle the adapter were it joins/plugs into your laptop

... do the lights flash without turning on the laptop? (when wiggling)

tried every step on troubleshooting still nothing happens.all it does is blink the leds,doesn't even try to power up,thank you for all your help

... take a good look @ the socket where the adapter plugs into the laptop I remember fixing one when the middle section split (like a reed) and peeled back touching the outer connection.

... I managed to just bend it back into shape, be carefull not to snap it!

... this one "click here" has the same type as described see the middle section it has a split in the middle, this is a before and after fix picture.

... one section of the split bent backwards and was shorting the connection.

... also had the same symtoms as yours and just jogged my memory.

... (looks like the split is there so when you "plug-in" the middle should expand to make contact)
