non system disk or disk error on my pc

Specs: Windows XP, pentium 4/128mb
my pc refused to boot but displays non system disk or disk error remove and press any key when ready.

Pull the disk out of your floppy drive and try again.

Thanx Buddie, blv me there's no disk in any of the drives (floppy or cd)!! i sincerely appreciate your concern & valuable time U've spent to get ds accross 2me. I remained oliver-twistic; u know it's not over until it's over.

In this case I suggest, to first download a boot disk and check, whether there is an active partition on your hard drive.
Depending on the hard drive format (FAT, FAT32, NTFS a.s.o.) you may download an ordinary DOS boot disk and check the partitions with FDISK, or you download something like KNOPPIX (Linux Live CD).
With a KNOPPIX CD, you can access the hard drive, if it's not corrupt or if you haven't lost all your partitions on the hard drive.
