Just installed XP Pro on an Inspiron B120 XP Home wouldn't even get on the web Had the "Windows cannot find '(null)' ..." problem Fixed that much later . Uninstalled IE6 because IE would immediarely shut down after a short blink and this still happens when any program wants to open it to display a page, like Belarc Advisor, without IE beng open already. Installed IE 7 then IE8 and uninstalled both (more than once actually more than twice) till I found an EXPLORER.EXE that worked and could access the internet it is not in Program Files folder Internet Properties has no tab section under the General tab and the Explorer window has no Tab bar or Tab functionality
