Specs: Windows XP
I am having a serious problem with my HP Pavilion dv9010us after formatting the entire hard drive and reinstalling a new Windows XP SP3, installing and updating all the drivers I think is necessary, successfully installed the (KB835221 QFE driver,KB888111 UAA Driver,SP34410 Conexant High Definition Audio Driver), but when I play music or any other sound application. I still cannot hear any sounds from the Altec Lansing Speakers (High-Definition Audio) or even on head phones...

Please help me with regard to this problem....thank you very much...

thank you for the quick response...

but I have already downloaded and installed all this drivers since last month... but the problem still exist... BTW... what should I do with this one? because when I try to install one of the drivers which is "Microsoft QFE Update KB835221" that comes from HP website... it tells me that "This is only to be used on HP Consumer PCs preinstalled with windows XP. Your PC does not meet this requirement, so update is being aborted..."

Thanks in advance....

You may need to program the speaker and headphone ports.

OK, I used the wrong word. Should have been CONFIGURE the ports. Have you had your fun now?

You stated you re-installed WinXP SP3. Did you use the restore disks or the recovery partition?

Look at the page linked below. Mentions that you need to install another driver first.

I've done this solution before, but nothing happens... I think I should now buy a new recovery disc from HP to solve this kind of problem which cost $20. Anyway, thank you very much for giving me some tips...
