No recovery console option on load with WinXP

Specs: Windows XP
I cannot access recovery console on load of my Win XP install disc.

It skips that menu completely which leaves me stuck because I really need to access it and this computer doesn't have a floppy drive to use some of the other work around methods I've seen.

Is there any reason the XP disc would skip the screen that allows me to choose the recovery console?

What type of XP disk do you have? Is it a full or upgrade version - retail; or is it an OEM - one supplied by a PC manufacturer (e.g. Dell, HP/Compaq etc.)?

Not uncommon to find some "Dell etc. branded" disks do not have the recovery console included... I have come a cross a couple like that; and the recovery disks provided with many systems likewise appear not to have it included...

Regardless suggest you follow "mavis's" link and report back if it works - or not...?
